Veg Soc in the news

June 15: The Sunday Express ran an article expressing doubt in the safety of vegan and vegetarian diets under the headline ‘Is it really safe to bring up your child a vegan?’. Chris Olivant, Head of Information and spokesperson for The Vegetarian Society, was quoted in the article saying, “it is not irresponsible to raise a child as a vegetarian or vegan…it is irresponsible to feed a child badly” and that vegetarian parents are “…less likely to feed their child junk food than omnivores because they have given it some thought”.
